How hot is MMA, part deux

On the hand, yesterday we had Eddie Goldman pointing to evidence that MMA is not as hot a property as the MMA media portrays.

On the other hand, today I ran across the news that the UFC is the No. 1 searched item on the Yahoo! search directory.

Score one for the UFC and MMA.

(By the way, you gotta love the opening line of the article: "Dana White's quest for world domination drew one step closer yesterday." It looks like Dana 'I'm not a dickhead' White is beginning to pick up a reputation in the mainstream media as well.)

About me

  • I am the host ofFightOpinion Radio show and I blog here about mixed martial arts, Brazilian jiu jitsu and grappling (or whatever else catches my eye). I used to manage MMA fighters (including Renato “Babalu” Sobral, Justin Levens, Robert Emerson and Wander Braga). I also used to be the color commentator for the WEC, IFC and Shogun promotions. Plus, I have been an MMA reporter for many of the major MMA news sites (Sherdog.com, MMAweekly.com, ADCC News, Max Fighting and others).
