The IFC is still kicking
Since nobody in the MMA media seemed to notice, I thought I'd point out that the International Fighting Championships (also known as the IFC) held a show last Saturday in Northern California.
At one time the IFC had deals in place that could have enabled it to become a major MMA promotion - bigger than any U.S. promotion other than the UFC. Instead, the IFC has fallen on a string of hard times and organiztional problems (and no, before you ask, the organizational problems had nothing to do with the job a did for it as a color commenator) that have left it standing still while the sport moves forward.
But, hey, it is good to know that one of the oldest promotions in MMA is still alive and kicking.
