Japanese media gets sloppy

Despite the fact that Dana White called K1 producer Sadahuru Tanigawa's claim that UFC 60 had 800,000 PPV buys and the UFC paid K1 $16 million (half of the supposed PPV revenue) for the right to have Royce Gracie fight in the UFC "the dumbest thing I've ever heard in my life," the Japanese press is continuing to report the outrageuosly high PPV buy rate and payment.

I guess that means the reports of White's comments, the average UFC PPV buy rates and common sense on the topic have not made it to Japan yet.

About me

  • I am the host ofFightOpinion Radio show and I blog here about mixed martial arts, Brazilian jiu jitsu and grappling (or whatever else catches my eye). I used to manage MMA fighters (including Renato “Babalu” Sobral, Justin Levens, Robert Emerson and Wander Braga). I also used to be the color commentator for the WEC, IFC and Shogun promotions. Plus, I have been an MMA reporter for many of the major MMA news sites (Sherdog.com, MMAweekly.com, ADCC News, Max Fighting and others).
