MMA, BJJ and . . . dancing?

Obviously I am no expert when it comes to Japanese culture or the Japanese MMA scene, because when I saw that an organization called "B-Fight" announced a card of MMA, BJJ and dancing I could only scratch my head.

My best guess is this is the Japanese version of the original WFA's "Where the fight club meets the night club" angle. In any event, it is definitely something different.

Not a new concept really in Japan. Contenders and ZST both use DJ's and play club music (mostly techno and trance) during the matches whether they are grappling or MMA rules.

About me

  • I am the host ofFightOpinion Radio show and I blog here about mixed martial arts, Brazilian jiu jitsu and grappling (or whatever else catches my eye). I used to manage MMA fighters (including Renato “Babalu” Sobral, Justin Levens, Robert Emerson and Wander Braga). I also used to be the color commentator for the WEC, IFC and Shogun promotions. Plus, I have been an MMA reporter for many of the major MMA news sites (Sherdog.com, MMAweekly.com, ADCC News, Max Fighting and others).
