This town aint big enough for the two of us. Or is it?
It looks like the Hollywood MMA training scene is going to be mighty crowded. MMANews.com has published a press release from the Chute Boxe Academy that announces the upcoming opening of it's first U.S. academy just south of Hollywood at 633 North La Brea Ave.
Meanwhile, less than a mile and a half north in Hollywood, the people who back the WFA are getting ready to launch Legends MMA Gym at 1626 North La Brea Ave. According to the website, the gym's instructors will be Rady Couture, Bas Rutten, Karo Parisyan, Jason "Mayhem" Miller, Jeremy Williams, Eddie Bravo and Chris Reily. There are a range of memberships available, with the most expensive requiring a $500 initiation fee and $400/month dues. Ouch.
Of course, you have to wonder about what is going to happen to Beverly Hills Jiu Jitsu. You see, while Chute Boxe's press release states that this will be the first Chute Box academy in the U.S., Beverly Hills Jiu Jitsu is already a Chute Boxe training center. My guess is that the Beverly Hills Brazilian Jiu Jitsu website will not proclaim, "The partnership between BHJJC Marcus Vinicius and Chute Boxe USA/Roberto Piccinini is doing very well!" for long.

There is also a huge new training facility opening up in San Diego that is financially backed by the owner of the Padres. Baret Yoshida will be one of the people teaching at this school full time.
