A UFC fight to get excited about

While the Ken Shamrock v. Tito Ortiz rematch is not all that interesting to me, there is another upcoming UFC fight I can hardly wait to see - Karo Parisyan v. Diego Shanchez. The two fighters will headline the August 17 Ultimate Fight Night card on Spike TV.

I cannot see a way for the fight to be anything but exciting. Parisyan and Sanchez are young up and comers, both are very skilled grapplers (Parisyan was a junior national judo champion and Sanchez was an ADCC Submission Wrestling World Championships competitor ) and they both give 100% in their fights. Plus, the fight is signifiganct because the winner will be in line for a title shot.

This is exactly the kind of fight a true MMA fan should be itching to see.

So even if I can't say anything nice about Shamrock v Ortiz II, I will give the UFC credit for putting Parisyan v. Sanchez on basic cable television and giving the hardcore fans a treat.
