IS PEDRO RIZZO READY TO RECLAIM HIS STATUS as one of the top 5 heavyweights in the world, or has he lost focus and begun a long slide down in the rankings? If you look at his last fight against Gan McGee, where he came into the fight out of shape and was knocked out, you might conclude that he has lost focus.

But, in his latest interview with Joel Hall, which is featured on Maxfighitng.com, he promises that he is in shape and focused on his next fight against Vladimir “The Janitor” Matyushenko. Plus, Eduardo Alanso reports (scroll down) that Rizzo already looks to be in great shape 1 month before his fight.

Talk is cheap, but I am hopeful that we will see a focused, in-shape Rizzo at UFC 42. A more perplexing question than rizo’s conditioning, however, is whether he will show the aggressiveness that makes him a devastating fighter, or whether he will go into the type of defensive shell that has given his opponents the ability to beat him in key fights?
