Is Hidehiko Yoshida moving to Los Angeles?

I just heard an interesting rumor from a friend. My friend went to his Judo club and the instructor told him that Pride fighter and Olympic Judo gold medalist Hidehiko Yoshida had just left the dojo. According to the instructor, Yoshida is preparing to move to Los Angeles and open up an MMA academy.

The story is unconfirmed at this point, but Yoshida opening a school in L.A. would definitely add a twist to L.A.’s MMA scene.

So what do you think? Would Yoshida really move to L.A. to open an academy? IMO, the rumor seems too far fetched to be true. (But it was also too interesting not to share with the whaledog.com readers.)

    This doesn’t make sense.

People from Brazil and former USSR move to the USA for rather obvious reasons – much better economic opportunities.

I don’t think that is the case for Japanese, especially someone who already has made a name for himself there.
